EP CAmpaign / Multiple Single Releases

About Ralph taylor

Ralph came to us having released with a couple of labels where he felt he wasn’t seeing enough results. His aim was to commit to our EP Strategy over a longer term, building his Spotify followers and numbers. This was the perfect opportunity for us to take a slow and steady approach working towards triggering Spotify algorithmic playlists.

our strategy

Ralph’s challenge to us was to support his bi-monthly single releases by running a Spotify Growth campaign that would, in time, trigger the Algorithmic playlists. The goal was to achieve steady Spotify follower growth and increase the save rate for each single. The higher the save rate the more likely you are of triggering the algorithm.

Our monthly rolling campaign for Ralph involved a highly bespoke organic & paid-ad social strategy for his EP release Strangeland, releasing each track as a single every two months. Our advice included encouraging an increase in activity across Instagram and TikTok, through sharing imaginative and creative content ideas in keeping with ever-changing trends across both platforms. This influx of organic activity ahead of each release meant a buzz was created ahead of time, giving each Paid-Ads campaign an immediate head-start.

Our Paid-Ads Strategy entailed running three Ads using different sections of the song and different visuals across Meta Ads (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger), analysing the success of each Ad in real-time and adjusting our approach accordingly. As this was a long-term campaign, we launched the first single using a larger, broader audience bringing in as much data as possible. We left it open for 5-6 weeks before beginning to implement lookalike audiences. By having a large influx of data this increased traffic and save rates much faster.

For all following singles we now had a pool of data and were able to retarget this audience. This resulted in triggering Discover Weekly & Radio algorithmic playlists, and by single 3 & 4 we were now triggering these playlists consistently.

“Laid Bare have been at the core of helping me build a solid foundation for my career in music and enabling my songs to reach different areas around the UK and Europe. I have felt supported creatively and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see our results improve through every release as we build our active audience.”

Algorithmic PLAYLISTS

By the 2nd single we started seeing algorithmic support from playlists, which are still being triggered now even after the campaign was switched off.

It was the first time Ralph had hit the Algorithmic playlists despite having released 12 singles previously.
